Porn Trackers: Your ISP Knows What Porn you Watch… You Cool with That?

Seriously, are you okay with the fact that your ISP basically knows every single thing you do online? This includes the porn that you watch. Are you still okay with that? If you are then you are either very open, or very closed and perhaps do not watch any porn at all. If it’s the latter, I feel bad for you…

I’m betting, however, that you are like most people and you have no idea what your ISP can do. Not only can do, but is doing. And with Congress recently voting to repeal restrictions on ISPs from selling your data, not only does your ISP know your viewing habits, so does everyone else… With the right amount of money.

Porn trackers: Your ISP

If you think that it doesn’t matter, you need to pay more attention to your politics. Especially if you live in the country called the United States of America. Here are a few things you may have missed during a covfefe break:

  • President Trump has signed a pledge saying that adult content does not deserve first amendment protections.
  • Trump signed off on the GOP’s platform in 2016 which declared that pornography is a public health crisis.
  • This platform looks to give serious consideration to appointing a presidential commission that will examine the impact on health of Internet porn.

Want to have even more fun? Utah, Tennessee, South Dakota, Arkansas, and Virginia have introduced legislation that would allow private citizens to sue porn producers. How long before your porn habits become a crime and you’re sued?

Hold on, what’s wrong with my porn?

I know what you’re thinking. You think the porn you watch is pretty innocent. You have no idea what conservatives are like. In conservative controlled England it is now a crime to produce porn which depicts:

  • Face sitting
  • Female ejaculation
  • Fisting
  • Any strangulation, even choking

Now do you think that you do not want porn trackers like your ISP watching your every move? How long before everything that doesn’t involve lying down and thinking about the Queen is illegal? Here’s what you’re going to do.

If you want to stop your ISP from tracking, and selling, your porn preferences you will need to do this:

  • Realize how your ISP tracks your porn habits. It does this using its ability to ‘see’ where you go online. If you are routing through its servers, it knows what you’re doing.
  • In order to stop this, you need to download and install a VPN. The VPN will encrypt your connection so that no one, not even your ISP, can see your traffic. All that your VPN will be able to see is the fact that you are connected to the VPN server. That’s it.
  • It would also be wise to use a private browser. These browsers will not store anything.
  • If you use a search engine to find porn you should choose a private one like DuckDuckGo. All other search engines track everything that you search, including porn.

You want to think that porn websites are secure, but the majority are not. They just want to make a cheap buck off of someone else’s good time. If you want to keep your private moments private, you are going to have to take responsibility for it using of the steps above.
